2009 - John Tyler presidential dollar D-roll uncirculated

Presidential dollars were designed to commemorate the US presidents that have led this great country. The United States Mint started this set back in 2007 and are scheduled to release these presidential dollars for years to come. What better way to illustrate the history of the US than to collect these wonderful dollars. Presidential dollars are minted from philadelphia (P), denver (D) and even San Fransisco (S). The John Tyler Dollar was the second release of the Presidential Dollar series for 2009 and the tenth release of the Presidential Dollar coin series overall. The official release date was May 21, 2009. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of former President Tyler. The portrait was designed and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. The obverse inscriptions will include "John Tyler," "In God We Trust," "10th President," and the years of his Presidential term "1841-1845." The reverse of the coin feature sthe rendition of the Statue of Liberty designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. This design has been used for each year of the series since it began in 2007. In 2009, the placement of the "In God We Trust" motto will be moved to the obverse of the coin. This follows early public confusion about the government's intentions when the motto was placed on the edge lettering of the coin. The other famous motto "E Pluribus Unum," the date, and mint mark will continue to appear on the edge lettering of the coin.
