We sent an independent researcher to every single local jewelry store the week of March 29, 2000 to purchase a 14k gold Herringbone chain 16' or 18' with a lobster claw. They were to get the closest chain of that criteria they could for $ 150. All gold chains were weighed on a calibrated electronic scale to calculate the price per gram.
