Released April 3, 2006, this is the 37th coin released in the 50 State® Quarter Program and the second coin released in 2006. Nebraska, admitted into the Union on March 1, 1867, themed the coin Chimney Rock. The image highlights an ox-drawn covered wagon carrying pioneers and Chimney Rock in the background. The coin is inscribed: Chimney Rock, Nebraska; 1867; 2006; and E Pluribus Unum. President William J. Clinton was in office when this legislation was signed. Three United States Mint Directors served under President Clinton's tenure; David J. Ryder of Idaho, Philip N. Diehl of Texas, and Jay W. Johnson of Wisconsin.
